Read Jonah 3:10-4:11. What surprises, encourages, or sparks questions for you? What characters do you resonate with or feel distant from in this passage?

What does this passage teach us about God? How does this passage show us something about the character of God to praise?

God’s nature leads him to give us what we do not deserve. What is one example of how you have seen or experienced God’s gracious compassion in your life?
In Jonah 4:4 God asked Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry?” In what ways can you resonate with Jonah’s anger? How is God’s question an invitation to you?
Compassion is one of the most frequent emotions we see in Jesus in the Gospels. How can remembering God’s compassion toward you, spur you on to show compassion to others? How do you remember, process your emotions, and shape your perspective according to God’s gracious, compassionate, and abounding in love character?
